COVID-19 and headspace Wollongong
headspace Wollongong are committed to providing ongoing services to young people. Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation we will be transitioning to more flexible ways of delivering our services.
All new clients will be offered online video or phone appointments. Existing clients with in-person appointments may still attend our centre but if you would prefer to connect with us over phone or video let us know. If you have returned from overseas in the past 14 days, been in contact someone who is suspected to have Coronavirus, or have any flu like symptoms (including fever, breathing difficulties, or cough) please phone us before coming in.
If you have any concerns please call us on 02 42207660 during business hours.
All of our group programs have been temporarily suspended for March and April 2020. This includes Rainbow League and Qmunity at Wollongong Youth Centre, and Yoga, Gamers, TAG and Transparent. This will be reviewed as time goes on. We are working on developing innovative ways for young people to connect with each other online. New opportunities will be promoted on our social media (facebook: headspace Wollongong and instagram: @headspace_wollongong).
These steps have been taken to ensure the safety of young people, family and friends, and staff working in the centre. We appreciate this is a worrying time for young people and their family and friends. Many issues arise from this evolving situation. On our social media pages you will find helpful tips and advice on managing stress. We also offer digital services - check them out at eheadspace.org.au.
