Free Teen Mental Health First Aid

Supported by The Aurora Group, headspace Maitland will be producing a short film to give young people from a regional area a platform to discusses their LGBTQIA+ experiences and to create a lasting resource to be used in schools and programs.

As part of this project headspace Maitland, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and the Youth Mental Health Project will be running Teen Mental Health First Aid for young people who identify as gender diverse or same sex attracted as well as allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Participants will learn the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan, as well as information about different types of mental health problems and mental health crisis situations in young people, and the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. 

Important: You must attend both sessions to receive the Teen Mental Health accreditation.
