ARAFMI Workshop at headspace Maitland
Do you help support or care for someone experiencing mental illness?
ARAFMI Hunter has partnered with Headspace Maitland to run a one-day Boundaries Workshop for individuals, families and friends supporting someone experiencing mental illness.
It is not possible to enjoy healthy relationships without the existence of personal boundaries, or without our willingness to communicate them directly and honestly with others. This workshop, run by an accredited clinical counsellor, is aimed to help people set and maintain healthy boundaries for those that support someone experiencing mental illness.
1 in 2 Australians have or will experience a mental disorder at some point in their lives and within the Maitland area, this equates to over 35 000 people. Mental illness can be challenging to live with for those who have it, and also for their families and loved ones, who play an important role in promoting a person's recovery from mental illness. ARAFMI Hunter is a community-based organisation that works to help the community understand and respond to the impact of mental illness on families, relatives and friends.
