Family and Friends

It’s important to remember that we only work with young people who are keen to engage with us.

1. Young people can give us a call on 02 6113 5700 or drop into our Braddon office.

2. With the young person’s knowledge and informed consent, you can call us on their behalf.

3. A doctor can also fax us a referral on 02 6113 5744.

headspace supports young people aged 12-25.

We are an early intervention service, that means we work with young people who have mild to moderate mental health issues.

Young people who are experiencing moderate to high mental health issues can access support from CatholicCare Next Steps High, Woden Community Service or CAHMS.

Give us a call if you have any questions about eligibility on 02 6113 5700.

Should we come to headspace or find a private psychologist?

If you can afford a private mental health support, go with this option. It's good to leave headspace free for young people who can't access other options.

How do I help them whilst they wait for support?

Tuning into Teens

‘Tuning in to Teens’ is an evidence-based program that focuses on an emotion coaching parenting style. Parents learn different ways to talk with and understand their child, as well as how to help their young person manage emotions and deal with conflict.
