Help Shape the Future of Youth Mental Health Care
headspace and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing are seeking public feedback on the draft headspace Plus Model of Care. This initiative aims to strengthen support for young people by addressing their evolving and intersecting needs across mental health, physical and sexual health, work and study.
This draft model has been developed through extensive collaboration with young people and family, the headspace network, mental health experts, service providers, and other key stakeholders. Now, your input is essential to ensure the model reflects the diverse needs of our communities.
By participating in this consultation process, you can help shape services that better support young people with more evolving and intersecting needs. The consultation is open until 11 June 2026, and we encourage everyone, from young people, community members, service providers, and other stakeholders, to contribute their feedback.
The public draft of the headspace Plus Model of Care is available here.
As part of this consultation, the draft model for Youth Specialist Care Centres (YSCC) is also open for feedback.
Following the consultation period, the Department will review submissions and provide feedback to inform the next stage of development. headspace will continue to work closely with the Australian Government to progress the refinement and implementation of the headspace Plus Model of Care.
Your voice matters. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Please review the draft and submit your feedback before the deadline to be part of this important conversation.
