headspace Bega is dialing up the groove with the launch of Beats by the Beach – is an event that will bring together local artists and youth for an evening of entertainment at Pambula beach, NSW, on 12 March. The event, which is run by the fabulous Youth Reference Group (YRG) at headspace Bega, is free to attend and hopes to break down some of the barriers brought on by two years of lockdowns. "This is a really great way to put something on in the valley where young people can come together and connect," YRG member, Abbee Hausfeld-Suffern said. "It's going to be awesome, we're going to have such a variety of amazing performers there and we're really hoping to see all sorts of groups of young people from different areas around the shire." After a tough couple of years - which has seen many young people battling social isolation, dealing with the aftermath of bushfires and restricted to screen-based interactions - this event is all about having fun, celebrating local talent and connecting! Another YRG member, Ffion Roberts-Thompson, said she was very excited about organising this event and thinks the event was needed for youth in the area. "We'd like to get everyone feeling a bit more positive because it's been so hard and with everything happening it would be really great to be able to get together and have a nice time."
