headspace welcomes investment into mental health

headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation welcomes the Victorian Liberal Nationals Coalition's commitment to invest $6m into Victorian headspace centres.

The Coalition's $108.55m mental health package will commit to providing further funding to all Victorian headspace centres, including centres in Bendigo and Collingwood planned for 2011. These centres were announced early this year by headspace and the Federal Government.

In addition the Coalition's package advocates for the creation of new centres in Ballarat, Ringwood and Dandenong.

Both the State Government's $108m mental health policy and the Coalition's $108.55m mental health package, place mental health on the agenda and demonstrate it is an important election issue. headspace looks forward to learning about the Greens' commitment to mental health in Victoria.
