Coming soon – headspace day 2017!

headspace day will take place on Monday 9 October 2017 as part of National Mental Health Week. This national day of awareness aims to educate young people on the importance of taking care of their mental health, and preventing issues early on before they become more serious.

We are encouraging all Australians to share their personal tips on what they do to help take care of their mental health. The more tips shared, the more ideas young people will have to help get in a healthy headspace.

It’s easy to get involved - all you need to do is:
  1. Go to headspaceday.org.au and download a headspace day placard.
  2. Write your personal mental health tip on the placard and hold it up in a photo. Then share this on all your social media channels using #headspaceday

Think about what helps you feel better. Some examples include:
  • Going to the beach
  • Hanging out with mates
  • Exercise
  • Baking or cooking yummy food
  • Walking my dog
  • Reading a book

headspace day activities will be celebrated by headspace centres across Australia. The day will also be supported by politicians, media personalities and a range of celebrities who will be sharing their personal mental health tips.

If you’re in Melbourne on Monday 9 October, you can join us for our headspace day event at the front of the State Library of Victoria from 11am to 1pm. We hope to see as many people as possible come along decked out in their best green attire for loads of fun and activities.
