Community Engagement

What we do.

Our work strengthens connections between headspace and the community by promoting mental health awareness, improving mental health literacy, encouraging early help-seeking, and delivering initiatives that respond to local needs. Through partnerships, outreach and targeted engagement with priority communities, we help ensure young people know where to find support and feel confident accessing it.

Let's do it together.

We work closely with schools, Universities, TAFE, alternative education services, other organisations and stakeholders to plan and deliver impactful events and activities that teach young people about mental health and how headspace can help.

Moving beyond stalls and wellbeing expos, we want to help you dream big and deliver an experience that truly engages participants. Reach out to us to see how we can work together. Get in early for key dates throughout the year as we often book up months in advance.

Looking for workshops and presentations?

We offer presentations for schools, community organisations and other stakeholders that provide an introduction to headspace, including the support services available, how young people can access them, and the reasons they might seek support. We explain referral pathways, what to expect when engaging with headspace, and the range of opportunities available beyond clinical support, including Youth Advisory Councils, groups and other ways for young people to get involved and have their voices heard. Options include a brief powerpoint presentation which suits meetings, assemblies and some classrooms. Or we can deliver this information in an informal workshop format alongside an activity.

We do not provide presentations or workshops on specific topics. Click here for info on evidenced-based, clinician-led programs, and other offerings specifically developed for schools that may be able to service your request.

our priority communities

While our goal is to share headspace's services with everyone, we’re particularly invested in building connections and improving service access for young people in our priority communities as identified in our annual plans, including:

  • Disengaged young people
  • Young men
  • First Nations
  • Culturally & Linguistically Diverse

Requests for community engagement will be prioritised in relation to these communities.
