New 6-Week Workshop at South Melbourne

Young people in South Melbourne are invited to join Healthy headspace, a new 6-week workshop designed to support wellbeing, build life skills, and connect with other young people in a supportive group environment.

Starting Thursday 23 July, participants will meet weekly from 4:00pm–5:30pm at headspace South Melbourne to explore topics that support a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Sessions will cover emotional wellbeing, sleep, physical health, communication skills, self-acceptance, and strategies for getting into life and achieving personal goals.

Workshop topics: 

Week 1 - emotions: 23rd July | This topic aims to help you build some skills and strategies that make it easier to deal with emotions like anxiety, anger, or sadness.

Week 2 - physical health: 30th July | We will discuss how nutrition and exercise help maintain a healthy headspace. Staying active and eating well helps you sleep better, cope better and boosts your mood.

Week 3 - sleep: 6th August | We will cover how to improve your sleep hygiene and the importance of sleep. You will learn strategies on how to get a good night sleep.

Week 4 - communicate with confidence: 13th August |This topic aims to help you build assertiveness skills, which can help you communicate in a clear, direct, respectful and honest way in difficult situations.

Week 5 - understanding & accepting myself: 20th August | We learn about our values & strengths and how they shape how we see ourselves. We will explore a range of tools to help understand and respond to body image concerns.

Week 6 - get into life: 27th August | We learn about our values & strengths and how they shape how we see ourselves. We will explore a range of tools to help understand and respond to body image concerns.

Healthy headspace provides a welcoming space to learn practical skills, share experiences, and build meaningful connections with peers.
