Fill Up Your Cup - a no pressure social connection group for 18-25-year-olds

headspace Port Adelaide are pleased to announce Fill Up Your Cup, a no pressure social connection group for 18–25-year-olds.

The group is once a fortnight on Tuesday's (starting May 19) exclusively for 18–25-year-olds, to get out and connect. Once a fortnight, we'll be at High Tide Cafe Semaphore doing sit-down and chill activities like board games, quizzes, craft, etc, and on the other fortnight we'll be at different cafe in Port Adelaide / surrounding areas doing a casual outdoors activity.

Why are we running this group?

1 in 3 adults in Australia are lonely, with 15–24-year-olds feeling lonelier than any other age group (43%). According to Loneliness Awareness Week Australia, connecting with friends and family more than once a month may reduce feelings of loneliness and decrease the risk of persistent loneliness. Those with a higher level of community trust, neighbourhood cohesion and community participation are less likely to experience episodic or persistent loneliness.

Couple this evidence with headspace’s 7 tips for a healthy headspace, and you have the inspiration to put something on that helps young people get into life and connect with others.
