What: Volunteer with headspace Craigieburn’s Youth Advocacy Group (YAG)
When: Applications close 28th of February. Meetings are held twice a month (one online, one in person).

Gain valuable experience, leadership skills, and networking opportunities. This is also a great resume booster for anyone passionate about mental health or community leadership.
Who is the group facilitated by?
The group is led by a youth advocate with experience in community leadership, public speaking, and mental health awareness. They have collaborated with Victorian Parliament, youth organisations, and media such as SBS Urdu to support and amplify young people's voices.
Examples of YAG activities are:
- Creating a podcast series.
- Co-facilitating mental health awareness workshops
- Co-designing and delivering events for the local community such as a mental health youth forum.
- Writing articles for our website and
- Contributing to the creation of social media content
- Providing feedback to headspace Craigieburn and Orygen staff to make their services more youth friendly.
- Other community awareness activities.
Please note that these are only examples of some activities you would be working on, and you will get the opportunity to share your ideas.
Key Selection Criteria
- Young person (YP)
Is aged between 16-25 - Can attend 2 meetings a month
- Is passionate about mental health and wellbeing
- Is able to work in a team effectively
- Has good communication skills
Desirable Criteria
- Young Person (YP) has used our services before
- YP is of/from a CALD (culturally and linguistically Diverse) LGBTQI+, neurodiverse or an indigenous background.
- YP has demonstrated sound communication, creative or leadership skills.
