Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
Friday October 9 - Albany Town Square
headspace Albany invite you to get your hat on for Mental Health awareness and be a part of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in 2020. The event takes over the Albany Town Square from 10am – 1pm on Friday October 9 2020.
“This is the sixth year we have held the Tea Party to celebrate Mental Health Week and it has become an event that the Albany community and services that support them really look forward to, and most importantly keeps people talking about mental health. The event is open to the whole community and is a great way to have a look at the range of services available in the town.” says headspace Albany Manager Andrew Wenzel.
“headspace Albany and our event partners Youth Focus and Amity Health have planned an event that highlights that looking after our own mental health as individuals and as a community can, and should be great fun. By talking about mental health we can break down barriers to people asking for help when they are going through a tough time”
In addition to stalls from local mental health support services, there will live music and Zumba for all the community to enjoy. All activities are free for people to participate in and there will be a BBQ, ice creams and coffee van on site.
At 12 there will be prizes awarded for Best Hat and Best Costume so people are encouraged to dress up in Mad Hatter style to celebrate the event. The Mad Hatter cake will look a little different this year with COVID19 guidelines, but there will most certainly be plenty of cupcakes for everyone to enjoy for free.
Each stall will have an activity promoting mental wellbeing and information about their services. There will be food and drinks available for purchase.
headspace Albany are thankful for the support from Lotterywest, WA Association on Mental Health, Amity Health and Youth Focus in bringing the 202 Mad Hatters Tea Party to the Albany Community.
