Expressions of Interest being accepted for Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, and Mental Heath Social Workers

headspace Camperdown is seeking Expressions of Interest from Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists and Mental Health Social Workers interested in providing high-quality mental health care to young people aged 12-25 years.

headspace clinicians work within an early intervention framework, supporting young people experiencing emerging or recent-onset mental health concerns. We welcome expressions of interest from clinicians who are passionate about youth mental health and committed to providing evidence-based, youth-friendly care.

headspace Camperdown is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary youth health service providing mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug, and vocational support services to young people aged 12-25 years and their families. Operated by the Brain and Mind Centre at the University of Sydney, our services are free or low-cost to young people.

Our team includes Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, General Practitioners, Psychiatry Registrars, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Mental Health Nurses, Researchers and Administrative staff who work collaboratively to support young people and their families.

Working as a private practice clinician at headspace Camperdown offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team while maintaining independent clinical practice. Clinicians benefit from regular referrals, administrative support, co-location with other health professionals, and the opportunity to contribute to a youth-focused service committed to improving outcomes for young people.

Successful applicants will be expected to:

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to young people aged 12-25 years.
• Deliver services within a youth-friendly, family-inclusive framework.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to coordinated care through liaison with families, carers, schools and other service providers where appropriate.
• Develop an understanding of the broader headspace service model and referral pathways.
• Bulk bill eligible Medicare services.
• Operate under an independent contractor arrangement, including payment of a modest room rental fee.

Interested applicants must possess:

• Current AHPRA registration (where applicable).
• Eligibility to provide psychological or counselling services under Medicare.
• An ABN and professional indemnity insurance.
• A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Psychology or Social Work, or equivalent experience working therapeutically with young people.
• Demonstrated experience or interest in youth mental health.
• Commitment to collaborative and multidisciplinary practice.
• A youth-friendly and family-inclusive approach to care.

This position is classified as child-related employment and will require a National Criminal Record Check, Working With Children Check and an understanding of the mandatory reporting obligations of health professionals.
