Boab Health Services is a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary primary health care service delivering allied health, mental health, and care coordination services throughout the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Professional (psychologist, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, Aboriginal health worker, or social worker) to join our organisation as the Clinical Lead with headspace Kununurra.

About the role

The Clinical Lead / Mental Health Professional is a key leadership position with the headspace Kununurra team and provides oversight to the coordination and delivery of clinical mental health services. The Clinical Lead is primarily responsible for providing clinical leadership and direction to the headspace team, ensuring effective day-to-day delivery of clinical services to meet the needs of young people. The Clinical Lead is a 0.5 FTE allocation.

This role will also deliver tailored and holistic mental health services for 12 to 25 year old’s experiencing mental health and wellbeing concerns.  This role will work in partnership with Wunan Health and other local health services, schools, and other community organisations.  The Mental Health Professional component of this role is a 0.5 FTE allocation.

About you

You will have significant post-registration experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions suicide prevention services with youth and young adults with mental health issues.  Your experience, compassion, and motivation to collaborate with Aboriginal people and in rural and remote mental health care will be highly regarded.  You will have AHPRA registration (if applicable to your discipline) and relevant professional association membership.
