17 Apr 2019

Prime Minister Scott Morrison attended headspace Ashfield on Saturday 13 April 2019 and met with a number of our youth representatives, headspace Ashfield Centre Manager Michael Cummins, and headspace CEO Jason Trethowan.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to announce the Liberal Party’s policy for youth mental health and Indigenous suicide prevention.

The Prime Minister also announced a new investment of $22.5 million for medical researchers to help find new solutions and better treatments for young and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who face mental health challenges. $19.6 million will also be provided for new services through the Indigenous Advancement Strategy to prevent Indigenous youth suicide, particularly in the Kimberly.
