Last week, on the 20th of September headspace Woolloongabba celebrated the official relaunch our new centre!
Just a month earlier, the team relocated to a larger, fresh, new site on Annerley Road.
The official relaunch was a great success, featuring a Welcome to Country, guest speakers, ribbon cutting, live music, activities, centre tours and a gelato cart!
Our Youth Reference Group (YRG) played a pivotal role in bringing the event to life, with Gabby and Jacob taking on the shared role of MC, while Megan shared her open and moving story of lived experience.
Alongside our YRG, guests heard from a number of other distinguished speakers including:
- Mike Bosel, Brisbane South PHN CEO
- Max Chandler-Mather MP, Member for Griffith
- Melissa McMahon MP, Member for Macalister
- Jason Trethowan, headspace CEO
- Drikus Van der Merwe, Stride CEO
It was an impressive turnout with almost 80 young people, consortium members, partners, and staff in attendance. Our team are grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate the new premises, which was designed by young people, for young people.
Working with our YRG and lead agency Stride, headspace Woolloongabba proudly co-designed the new centre to be an inviting and comfortable space. The larger centre features state-of-the-art counselling rooms, family and general practitioner spaces, natural light, as well as a calming outdoor deck.
We are excited to welcome more young people, their family and friends to our new home.
