Wear It Purple Day at Hoyts
COMPASS (Tweed/Southern Gold Coast LGBTIQAP+ Youth Network) had our first event for Wear It Purple Day on 25th August 2017 and it went off!!! With a packed house of purple people @ Hoyts Tweed City, the vibes were predictably positive :-). We showcased a new release film from the US called "Real Boy" about a transguy going through his transition, premiered "Keiah's Story" from the #breakthestigma series, and hosted a brilliant LGBTIQAP+ Awareness Panel "You Can Ask That". Thanks to everyone who showed up looking fabulous and helping to make Tweed Shire and the Gold Coast a safer and more inclusive place for our LGBTIQAP+ young people. Compass is a youth-driven network of community members and service providers uniting to provide safety, support, acceptance and celebration for LGBTIQAP+ young people in the Tweed Shire and Southern Gold Coast.
