Inaugural Diversity Walk
On the 28th October 2017 the Compass Network held our inaugural Tweed/Cooly Diversity Walk! We had a fantastic turn out with lots of colourful people (and a few colourful canines!) coming together to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our local community. Led by the fabulous Tweed Heads Police service we walked up Bay St and Wharf St and crossed the NSW/ QLD border, landing in Chris Cunningham Park for a BBQ and live music. Huge thanks to all the community members who came along, our wonderful Compass crew, headspace Tweed Heads, headspace Southport, Tweed Shire Council, Tweed Mayor Katie Milne, Tweed Heads Police Service, Michael Byrne and the SCU Rainbow Alliance, Larissa Smyth, Essie Thomas, Salt and Steel, Glen Dransfield, and the fabulous Sugar Cane! We can't wait to do it all again next year...
