Family Drug Support and headspace Taringa are pleased to provide a series of three FREE information sessions for families impacted by someone else’s drug/alcohol use.

Stepping Forward - a series of 3 x 2hr weekly group sessions for parents and family members. Sessions will run 17, 24 and 31 January 2018.

Details of the sessions are as follows:

Session 1 – Wednesday 17 January 2018, 4pm-6pm

Stages of Change and The Balance Pole – covers the Stages of Change for person engaged in use and the Cycle of Change for Families, as well as self care strategies for family members.

Session 2 – Wednesday 24 January 2018, 4pm-6pm

Effective Communication – covers what not to do and basic positive communication strategies to have a connected relationship with your person and improve relationships.

Session 3 – Wednesday 31 January 2018, 4pm-6pm

Alcohol and Drug Information – everything you need to know, including why people engage in use, different types of licit and illicit substances and their impacts.
