Frequently Asked Questions

All of our groups are free!

To join some of our groups, you need to be a current client with headspace or have engaged with headspace within the past 3 months. Other groups are open to anyone.

If you head over to the groups booking page and click on the groups that interest you, you will see more information about them.

We have groups that are run by clinicians and also have peer-led groups, meaning peer support workers with lived experience will run the groups.

Peer-led groups are run by peer support workers who either have lived experience of mental ill health or experience caring for a young person with mental health concerns. Peer-led groups will not cover clinical or therapeutic content.

Our clinician-led groups will incorporate or teach therapeutic skills in group content or activities, to support your wellbeing.

Some groups require a short-term commitment (a few weeks), while others are more casual and great for drop-ins. Check the group descriptions on our booking page to see what suits you best.

We ask that you sign up through the booking page so we can manage numbers and keep you updated if anything changes. We understand that sometimes this might not be possible due to exceptional circumstances. If that’s the case, please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can assist you with the sign-up process and ensure everything is sorted before the group begins.

Unless we say it’s a structured program, our groups are flexible. You can come whenever you like, each session will have different content. You can find this information on the groups booking page.

If you have registered for a group, the group facilitator will get in touch with you directly to let you know if the group has been cancelled.

Stuff comes up, it's all good! If you can't make it to your group, it’s best to email us at headspacegroups@liveslivedwell.org.au

Of course! Just share the groups booking page with them and encourage them to sign up.

“Groups are the best...Sure, they're a little awkward at first...but once you get into the groove and get over those first-time nerves...you slowly learn that everyone is going through their own thing and everyone is so accepting.”
