Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards
On the 26th of November, it was a pleasure to accompany Oscar Taylor, our longest serving Youth Reference Group member, to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards at Yitpi Yartapuultiku.
We nominated Oscar for the Aunty Josie Agius Youth Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to his community and dedication to headspace Port Adelaide over the last 3 years. Although he didn't win, we are extremely proud of Oscar for being a final nominee!
Oscar always puts his hand up to help us at events, rarely misses a monthly meeting, and approaches everyone he meets with genuine kindness and without judgement. He is the perfect ambassador for headspace and what we stand for. You might also see Oscar kicking goals for the Portland Football Club, or in the Port Adelaide cheer squad - this is a guy who lives and breathes Port Adelaide!
A big thank you to The City of Port Adelaide Enfield for our invite and for putting on a fantastic evening, supported by the wonderful Kevin Kropineryi Comedian and musician Rob Edwards.
