learn to skate!

Free learn to skate group January 2024 for young people 12-25.

Always been interested in roller skating but never had the opportunity to try it out? Haven't skated in a while and need to rebuild your confidence? Skated a little but want to learn some more skills? We've got just the group for you!

headspace Port Adelaide is offering a free 4 week Learn to Skate program for young people 12-25 in the January school holidays.

Our coach will teach you all the basics of skating: how to check your skates prior to skating (safety check), how to stand up from a seated position, how to move forward and backwards using sticky skating and striding, how to stop, how to safely fall, how to fall in a fun way (slides), and some tricks and higher skills if you get the basics down. Everyone will be able to practice their skills together playing games like red rover and red light/green light.

When: January 8, 15, 22, 29
Time: 12-17 year olds 4.30pm-5.30pm, 18-25 year olds 6-7pm
