We celebrated this year's National headspace Day on WEDNESDAY 21ST OCT 2020.
Despite COVID restrictions in place we managed a great little event outside our centre from 11:30AM-1:00PM.
We enjoyed awesome live music by some local youth, a sausage sizzle (first since Jan 2020), cupcakes by KateCaters and activities that engaged the community with this years' theme 'small steps everyday' - which encouraged all young people to take ‘small steps everyday’ for their mental health. Taking 15 seconds, or 5 minutes to create some time and space to focus on the things they love - something that makes them smile .
In amongst the fun, we also officially launched ‘Mandy the Mental Health’ Koala as part of the @hellokoalas sculpture trail. Mandy will be with us for the next 6 months- so pop by and grab a snap with her!!
Thanks to those who celebrated youth mental health with us - we will do it all again next year!
Port News covered the event- check out the article here
