Accessibility at headspace Osborne Park

Osborne Park

Going to a new place as a person with physical disabilities or limited mobility can be an absolute nightmare. We've put together this post to let you know what to expect.

Note: Currently, this page only has information on accessible parking. More general information is coming soon. Stay tuned!

Around the front of the building, located along Scarborough Beach Road, there are five car bays. These are not dedicated accessible parking spots, but they may be suitable for people with more mobility. The path up to the entrance has a dropped curb, or curb ramp, which is wheelchair-friendly.

However, the front door is relatively heavy and may be difficult for people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility to open by themselves. If you think this might be an issue for you, please give us a ring when you're on your way and our reception team can leave the door open for you.

Around the back of the building, located at the end of a long driveway that branches off of Baden Street, is a larger parking lot. This is equipped with one dedicated accessible parking spot right up against the building, a few meters from the back entrance.

The back door is typically a staff-only entrance and has a key-card scanner, so you will need to call reception once you have arrived to come and to let you in.

Here's a basic map to better explain the layout. It is a zoomed-in version of the parking map available here.

We are well aware that this arrangement isn't perfect, and we also know that everyone's accessibility needs are different.

If you have any suggestions/feedback to make our service more accessible, we would love to hear it - leave a comment below or shoot us an email.
