Applications are open for the headspace Orange 2019 Youth Reference Group! Young people aged between 12-25 years, with an interest in youth issues, are encouraged to apply.
The Youth Reference Group guides the development and review of programs, and is directly involved in campaigns and events, media opportunities, social media, research projects, peer support, mentoring and a lot more.
Sharna Lord, Community Engagement Officer at headspace Orange, is encouraging young people with a passion for mental health and local youth issues, to apply for the Youth Reference Group and use the opportunity to shape the headspace message in Orange and the surrounding communities.
“Being a part of the Youth Reference Group is a chance for young people to create projects and campaigns about issues they are passionate about. Members also play a large role in coordinating our many community events.”
The Youth Reference Group have a unique opportunity to represent young people in their community, learn new skills and have a lot of fun in the process.
“The group meets every fortnight and when we aren’t planning the next headspace event, we’re working together on projects and campaigns created by the young people in the group. It’s a great process and members have the opportunity to learn skills in leadership, event coordination, youth mental health and so much more.”
For more information about this event or if you are a young person with something going on, call the team on 6369 9300 or stop by the centre at 264 Peisley Street Orange.
