Why 3,307? 3,307 lives were lost to suicide in Australia in 2024, the latest year of data. Acknowledging the impact of suicide in our communities is extremely important in destigmatising mental health conditions.
There are daily targets, each one aligning with a mental health statistic. They increase as you get into the challenge, and there are some catch up days included.
Why should I participate?
Creating conversation around mental health and fundraising for your local headspace centre while completing a challenge? It's a win on all fronts.
You can sign up as an individual, with a group of friends, with your workplace… so many options!
Do I have to do push ups?
No way! You can alternate exercises and make things work for you. Our team is using things like pilates moves, squats, dance steps and star jumps to complete the challenge.
How does headspace Onkaparinga benefit from Push Up Challenge?
We benefit both from fundraising and a more mental health aware community. We’ve been able to create an amazing mural, host Southern Suburbs Cinema Club sessions so 12-25s can see movies on us, buy a watercooler for our waiting room and some other cool things.
