The Push-Up Challenge 2020
The Push Up Challenge ran over three weeks, from May 11th – 31st with needing to complete 3,046 push-ups over this time.
The challenge was created to promote awareness about suicide in Australia and encourage positive mental health through physical activity. It highlights the devastating number of Australian lives lost to suicide in 2018. Our goal was to complete 3,046 push-ups in total, representing the number of lives lost in Australia due to mental health issues in 2018.
As we continue promoting the importance of help-seeking, breaking down the stigma of mental ill health and making sure every young Australian knows they are not alone 45% of Australians will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life and around 75% of mental illnesses occur for the first time before a person turns 25.
After a grueling 3 weeks our centre managed to complete 75,744 push-ups, 52 legends supported us which resulted in raising a staggering $4,800!!! We couldn't be more proud, and would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and support!!
