Construction Futures Info Session at headspace Joondalup
On November 7th, headspace Joondalup, in collaboration with Construction Futures, held a well-attended Construction Futures Info Session. This successful event, organised by the headspace Joondalup IPS (Individual Placement and Support) Work and Study team, aimed to introduce young people to the exciting career pathways in the construction industry. With 24 young people and around 16 parents present, the session was so popular that we ran out of chairs!
The event included an engaging presentation by Construction Futures, highlighting various roles and opportunities within the construction sector. One of the standout features was the VR headset experience, which allowed young participants to immerse themselves in the realities of working on construction sites. This interactive experience provided a unique glimpse into what a career in construction entails, generating enthusiasm and interest among the group.
In addition to these activities, we provided information about our IPS program at headspace Joondalup. The IPS team is committed to assisting young people aged 12-25 with their work and study aspirations, offering support with resumes, job applications, interview skills, and more.
We extend our gratitude to Construction Futures for contributing to this memorable and enriching event. We are excited by the positive feedback from attendees and are eager to continue helping more young people shape their futures through the IPS program.
