HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY headspace Hurstville

10 Years. 3650 days. Our headspace doors opened in Hurstville on the 16th of July 2014. Last Friday on the 11th of October 2024, we celebrated this amazing milestone at Hurstville Plaza.

We were fortunate to have Sharlene Mckenzie from Allawaw provide an Acknowledgement of Country, Mariam Faraj from @cesphn , Kate Snars from our Lead Agency @stridementalhealth and our Centre Manager Seema speak on the day.

Our awesome YRG and HYNRG Member Fiona did an amazing job at being the MC of the event.

There was amazing entertainment from the Chinese Dance Group at Advance Diversity Services and Greek Dancing with @kalymnianyouthsocietynsw who got us all involved, showcasing the amazing cultures that make up the Hurstville area ????

The wonderful @jacinta_drumondmusic also sang on the day and @visualartizestudios provided an awesome art mural and facepainting for people who came by on the day ????

Our YAC’s and YRG helped lead some fun activities like Bike n Blend @bikenblend , quietspace our sensory space, Mental Health Trivia, Chatterbox making and stars too! ⭐️

Our Amazing YRG Darcy made the delicious cake on the day and Kirsty from @aplatedaffair provided an amazing spread to share with us on the day.

A big thank you to @grcouncil for supporting us on the day and allowing this event to take place. Adams Apple also donated us some wonderful fresh fruit and @event_cinemas Hurstville some amazing free movie vouchers

It was also great to see other community service providers such as @headspace_aus @2connectyouthcommunity @3bridges_youth @interrelate @growau Mortdale, Head to Health Parramatta, @headspace.miranda @headspace_camperdown @headspace.ashfield South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, our CASPAR team and more.

It was truly a special day. From our humble beginnings to where we stand today, every moment has been a testament to the strength and spirit of our amazing community. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
