Welcome to headspace Grafton.

We help young people aged between 12 and 25 who may be going through a tough time in the Clarence Valley region of NSW.

headspace Grafton is a free, youth friendly and confidential service. Drop in any time Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4:30pm or alternatively contact us on (02) 66421520.

headspace Grafton is operated by GenHealth. All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, North Coast.


Nutrition screening, dietary assessment and education about food and lifestyle, also support around healthy eating strategies.

If you live near our headspace centre in a rural area but cannot travel in to see us, you can see our mental health workers online.

GPs can help with any physical health issues as well as issues related to sexual health, drug or alcohol use, relationship problems or feeling down or upset. Your centre may have a GP on site or links to one locally. 

Workers either on site or linked to the centre who can assist you with any alcohol or other drug concern.

A group of young people who help with events and some decision making at a centre. Ask your centre about getting involved.

Your GP can refer you to see a specialist youth psychiatrist for bulk billed assessment and management advice for mental health issues.

Mental health workers – which may include psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other workers – that can help if you're just not feeling yourself.

Sexual health screenings on site or links to local services.

Centres have a range of programs and activities for young people. Just ask your centre what they have on.

Positions currently available at headspace Grafton

 The Clinical Lead is a key leadership position within the headspace Centre team and will provide support and guidance to headspace Grafton clinicians within the primary health care setting. The Clinical Lead provides oversight to the coordination and delivery of clinical services at headspace Grafton and is primarily responsible for providing clinical leadership and direction to the Centre team, ensuring that day-to-day clinical work is carried out to effectively meet the needs of young people.

This position will contribute to the development of evidence-based and innovative clinical services and will promote the delivery of mental health services that are of the highest quality. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical support and guidance to clinical staff and ensure staff are provided with adequate supervision. They will also be keenly engaged in clinical and caseload reviews and will actively manage referrals and demand for clinical services.

The Clinical Lead will be adept in leading a multidisciplinary team and an experienced and innovative professional with considerable knowledge and experience in mental health service delivery. The Lead will work collaboratively with all clinicians located at the headspace Grafton Centre and will report to the Centre Manager. This position will also form and maintain working relationships with key agencies in the community to establish integrated care pathways for young people.

The position will involve having a clinical caseload and will work closely with the headspace Manager and other key staff within the Consortium and GenHealth.

headspace Grafton is located at 59 Duke Street in Grafton and our building has been designed to provide full wheelchair access. 

Disabled parking is available in our parking area located at the front of our building with wheelchair accessible ramps allowing ease of access. 

If you have any specific requirements to help you access our service please call us and we will work with you to make sure you can easily access our building and service.

The closest Bus Stop is located at Market Square in Prince Street, Grafton. Please contact BusWays for the latest timetables.

 To access headspace Grafton services for free all you need to have is a valid Medicare card.

 If you don’t have a Medicare card and you are over the age of 15 years old you can apply for your own Medicare card.  Information about how to apply can be found on the Department of Human Services page:


 If you are in Grafton, you can visit the Medicare Office at 4/8 King Street for assistance.

 You will need to provide identification, such as a student card or birth certificate.

 For more information you can contact Medicare general enquiries on 132 011, they are open 7 days a week / 24 hours a day. If you are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander you can contact the access line on 1800 556 955.  They are open mon – fri 8:30am – 5pm.

 If you are ineligible to apply for a Medicare Card give us a call and we will direct you to alternative appropriate services.
