I'm a Youth Access Worker. I am one of the first staff members that young people will meet on their headspace journey as I complete their intake appointments. I also have regular check ins with young people and we work on strategies they can use to help with things like anxiety or self confidence. I also help with our after school groups (mainly Gamespace).
What helps you keep a healthy headspace?
Spending time with my family, listening to my favourite music and dancing around the kitchen while my kids laugh & roll their eyes at me, reading a good book, and getting outside in the sunshine
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I had a lot of trouble deciding what I wanted to be when I was younger. At different points in time I had plans of being a nurse, a primary school teacher, an actor, a drama teacher and even a photographer

In my role as a Youth Access Worker, I meet with young people when they first come into the centre for an intake appointment and also deliver brief interventions to help equip them to handle life’s challenges. In my role, I also connect young people in with other community or headspace services that may support young people in other areas.

Tell us about your role at headspace?
I am a headspace Clinician. I provide counseling supports for the young people in the Central Highlands! I work alongside young people to talk about what's on their minds and understand what the young person would like support with. During appointments, we will work towards building skills and strategies to help with things like difficult relationships, anxiety, trouble sleeping, self-esteem and managing your overall mental health.
What helps you keep a healthy headspace?
To keep my headspace healthy, I spend time with or talk to the people I love, I exercise either at the gym, go to a Pilates class, or play touch football and listen to music that makes me feel good!

Christmas has always been my favourite holiday. Christmas has always felt very special to me, growing up it meant spending a lot of time with my family and the people I care about, baking delicious treats, and watching Christmas movies together.
