I am the Administrative Support Officer at headspace and I am one of the first people you see when you come into the centre.  My role is to manage the front reception and waiting area and I like to make sure you feel safe and comfortable in the short time you are here. If there is anything you need just let me know and I’ll do my best to help! I also get to make sure there are cold drinks and snacks stocked up for you guys to enjoy when you drop in to see us.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to get crafty and I am loving mosaic and textured art at the moment. I also like reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Do you have a favourite animal? If so why that animal?

My favourite animal would have to be a giraffe. Not only are they elegant and cute but they are also really tall. Something that I’m definitely not.

In my role as headspace Clinician, I do counseling with young people, giving them a space to talk about what is happening for them, helping build skills to tackle hard times, anxiety, friendship or relationship difficulties, sleep, and ways for them to have a generally happy headspace. I am always happy to start with a classic game of UNO.

What's one fun fact about you?

In 2014, I had my art displayed in the Toowoomba University of Southern Queensland Art Gallery as part of an art competition I was a finalist in.

What's your favourite holiday?

My favourite holiday is going to the beach, especially visiting the Sunshine Coast where my family would holiday when I was a kid.

Tell us about your role at headspace Emerald?

I'm a Youth Access Worker. I am one of the first staff members that young people will meet on their headspace journey as I complete their intake appointments. I also have regular check ins with young people and we work on strategies they can use to help with things like anxiety or self confidence. I also help with our after school groups (mainly Gamespace).

What helps you keep a healthy headspace?

Spending time with my family, listening to my favourite music and dancing around the kitchen while my kids laugh & roll their eyes at me, reading a good book, and getting outside in the sunshine

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I had a lot of trouble deciding what I wanted to be when I was younger. At different points in time I had plans of being a nurse, a primary school teacher, an actor, a drama teacher and even a photographer

I'm the Cultural Diversity Community Engagement Worker here at headspace Emerald. My job, together with Dakota, is all about helping you learn what headspace is, what we do, and how we can support you. So, if you see us around your school chatting about mental health, don’t be shy — come say hi! You can also like or comment on our social media posts (only if you’re comfy doing so, of course). I also help run our after-school social groups — making sure they’re fun, welcoming, and always a safe space for everyone.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to watch Anime. I don't just binge watch episodes, I binge watch seasons!

Do you have any hobbies?

My favourite hobby is photography. I photograph people and businesses as a little side hustle.
