Free mental health support now available for young people in Salisbury
Young people in Salisbury now have easier access to free mental health support, thanks to a new partnership between Sonder and the City of Salisbury.
As part of an 18-month pilot program, a qualified mental health worker from headspace Edinburgh North will be based at Twelve25 Youth Centre, providing free, confidential one-on-one support for young people aged 12 to 25.
Young people can access up to four free sessions without a doctor’s referral, with additional support available if needed.
This initiative is the first to roll out under the City of Salisbury’s Youth Action Plan 2024-2027, which aims to support, empower, and create opportunities for young people across the region.
Breaking down barriers to mental health support
By bringing headspace services into the Twelve25 Youth Centre, young people in Salisbury can now access mental health support in a familiar and welcoming environment. This initiative helps remove barriers such as transport and cost, making it easier for young people to prioritise their mental health.

Sonder CEO, Sageran Naidoo, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving youth mental health in the region.
“We are proud to partner with the City of Salisbury to bring much-needed mental health support directly to young people in the local community. By embedding a headspace worker at Twelve25, we’re making it easier for young people in Salisbury to access free, confidential support close to home. Having this service available locally means young people can get the help they need, when they need it, in a familiar and welcoming space. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to improving youth mental health and wellbeing, and we look forward to seeing its positive impact.”
