Recently our headspace Bendigo team members attended the Suicide Prevention Awareness Network - Central Victoria Walk at the Dai Gum San precinct.
Thank you to our team members, Youth Ambassador Evie and Steph from Bendigo Community Health Services for providing information and resources to support community members bereaved by suicide.
We were welcomed to the event by Bendigo Mayor Andrea Metcalf with Troy Firebrace delivering a very beautiful Welcome to Country. It was also wonderful for our community to hear from Luke Baker who shared his experience with mental health and watch how Luke bought everyone together.
Em Black chose some beautiful and appropriate songs for the event and sang a very meaningful rendition of Hallelujah for the very moving Butterfly Ceremony. Great work again from Dewars audio.
Each year we are supported by Amanda and Catherine McAuley College students to assist on the day, meet SPAN committee members and local services to find out more about supports and services available. Thank you.
Without fail the ladies from the CWA are always there to show their support along with the Bendigo fire Brigade members marching to remember their colleague.
It was great to have Kat and Mat attend for the first time with a display of their heartwarming ‘after bags’. Please follow this link to learn more about these amazing bags.
Well done to everyone who attended the event supporting families who have lost a loved one and to let them know they are not alone.

The team never missed the annual event.

We are always grateful for the support of CMC.

Local fire brigade members and Em Black check out the beautiful quilt.

Em Black performs at the butterfly ceremony.

Nick and his amazing afterBAGs.
