Hike for Health - Bush Walk events
Earlier in September, headspace Armadale partnered with Marmun Mia-Mia Aboriginal Corporation, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service, and Neami National Suicide Prevention, to collaborate on a project that would get our local young people out for a walk in the bush, a healthy lunch, and a good yarn about emotional well-being and healthy habits.
The day took place at Settler's Common and had a focus on learning about country, healthy ways to cope with stress, protective habits for emotional well-being, and learning about who you can talk to in a rough time.
This turnout was great, and we look forward to more of these field trips in the future!
Thank you to Marmun Mia-Mia for having us at Settler's Common, and of course to all the other valued partners and staff involved in making this day happen.
Stay tuned for announcements about any future bush walks in 2024!
