Sport and Well-being Presentations

Did you know?

One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the past 12 months – a higher prevalence than all other age groups. Alarmingly, suicide is the leading cause of death of young people, accounting for one third of all deaths.

headspace undertakes a range of activities to increase the awareness of our services and how to access them among young people, their families, friends and the broader community.

headspace Albury Wodonga is privileged to have an incredible amount of support from our local community, with much of this support provided via sporting and recreational groups.

We want to ensure that our community has opportunity to learn about headspace and mental health so that we can all work towards better outcomes for our young people, families and general communities.

In consultation with local sporting organisations, headspace Albury Wodonga has developed specific Sport & Well-being Presentations. These presentations are an introduction to; what mental health is and what we can do to help people needing help.

They also provide the opportunity for our communities to have conversations that will reduce stigma and provide guidance to professional help.

Presentations are

  • design to meet the needs of specific groups
  • suit junior and senior groups
  • including playing groups and leadership/committee groups
  • can be tailored to specific requirements if needed
  • provide support and direction for volunteers
