Vocational Peer Support Worker

Employer: headspace Darwin - Anglicare NT

Deadline: 31 Mar 2023, 5:00 pm

The Vocational Peer Worker will provide open, appropriate and effective support to young people accessing or considering connection to headspace Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services.

IPS is a vocational program offered in 50 headspace centres, geared towards matching a young person with employment opportunities beneficial for their mental health, while also addressing non-vocational needs.

Sharing advice, stories, and reflections between peers can be a vital part of the recovery process and a way to maintain mental health and work and study plans and goals.  It is a way for young people to come together to express themselves free of judgement, with the knowledge that they are not alone, and someone understands how they feel.

This role you will be drawing on your lived experience in the everyday duties of your work.

You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide good quality services.

Applications will be assessed on receipt.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.

As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to address the key selection criteria on the online application on the Anglicare NT website.

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.

Anglicare NT is a Child Safe, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
