Senior Clinician - Enhanced Care

You will support young people with complex needs and provide therapeutic interventions and care coordination whilst offering clinical support and advice to the Enhanced Care team. The Enhanced Care program assists young people aged 12 to 25 years experiencing complex mental health issues.

Reporting to the Team Leader Enhanced Care, this role will include the provision of assessment, care planning, referrals, consultation and therapeutic input.

The Senior Clinician Enhanced Care will work closely with General Practitioners, clinical staff and allied health contracted staff across the headspace Darwin/Palmerston clinical teams as well as service providers to coordinate care, identify and address the barriers and challenges to accessing appropriate service pathways and effective treatment. You will uphold the values of Anglicare NT and provide quality services within the scope of the position and associated delegations.

To be successful in this role:

  • The minimum qualification required is an approved tertiary qualification and 3 years' experience in a health-related discipline and registration with the relevant regulatory body such as APHRA or membership of and adherence to professional standards, such as the AASW for Social Workers.
  • Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, psychoeducation and short-term treatment interventions to young people experiencing mental health and/or substance use, and/or other social difficulties using current evidence-based approaches in an early intervention framework.
  • Extensive service system knowledge: relevant legislation, government policy and strategic directions in relation to mental health and alcohol and other substances particularly as it relates to young people.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
