Celebrating National Reconciliation Week at headspace Tweed Heads!
Social Futures (our lead agency) staff gathered at headspace Tweed Heads on 29th May to celebrate Reconciliation Week and the launch of Social Futures' Reconciliation Action Plan!
The Australian Human Rights Commission's "Bringing Them Home" documentary was screened, a beautiful bush tucker lunch was shared, and a yarning circle was held by headspace Tweed Heads' Aboriginal Youth Access Clinician, Bundjalung woman Leisa Lavelle. headspace Tweed Heads Youth Advisory Group member Adrian Ellis gave a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country, and it was great to have Social Futures CEO Tony Davies share a few words about the brand new Reconciliation Action Plan.
This year's National Reconciliation Week theme is "Don't Keep History a Mystery," and the event was a great opportunity for our staff to learn more about the past while together forging positive pathways into the future. Big thanks to everyone who came along to share this important occasion.
