headspace Onkaparinga partners with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service

Sonder is pleased to announce the finalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding between Sonder, the lead agency for headspace Adelaide, Edinburgh North, Onkaparinga and Marion, and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

This agreement represents a significant step forward in Sonder’s commitment to providing coordinated and integrated mental health services for young people aged 12 to 25 living in Adelaide’s metropolitan region. By formalising the partnership, Sonder and CAMHS aim to enhance the quality of care and ensure seamless service delivery across their organisations.

Mr Sageran Naidoo, CEO, Sonder stated, “This partnership with CAMHS is a testament to our ongoing commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of young people in our communities. By working together, we can provide more comprehensive and accessible services, ensuring that no young person falls through the cracks.”

Key objectives of the partnership include:

  • Establishing clear referral pathways and processes between Sonder’s headspace centres and CAMHS.
  • Facilitating knowledge and skill-sharing opportunities through joint professional development and supervision initiatives.
  • Strengthening collaborative efforts to improve mental health outcomes for young people in our communities.
  • Building greater integration between the organisations to support young people and their family members/carers in receiving appropriate care.

Ms Adie Gibbons, Director Mental Health Strategic Operations, CAMHS added, “The partnership with Sonder is an exciting development that will ensure that both services can provide the best possible care to young people and their families. It will allow young people to get the right help at the right time and ease transitions between services. We look forward to seeing the difference this partnership makes to our community.”
