The Push Up Challenge 2025

This year we are pumped to rejoin the Push Up Challenge for another year, we will be participating in Australia’s largest mental health and fitness event, The Push-Up Challenge, from Wed 4 June to Thursday 26 June 2025 and we would be honoured if you joined us.

 

If you choose to get involved, we’d love you to fundraise for headspace Knox/Lilydale. Simply select our centre name when you register, these vital donations will support our local centres to further our capacity to support the young people in our shared region of Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges, we would be honoured by your assistance to improve our ability to meet the mental health, physical health and wellbeing of our shared young peeps.

 

Participants are challenged to complete 3,214 push-ups over 23 days, which represents the 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in one year, according to the most recent statistics from 2023.

It’s a big challenge, but there are options to suit every fitness level. You can aim for the half target (1,607) or substitute push-ups with alternative exercises like sit-ups, squats, wall pushups… Anything goes!

 

This is also a really great opportunity for families to get involved and bring the mental health convo into physical activity by breaking down the mental health stat released each day that aligns to the amount of push ups needed. Lets further our shared community understanding and prioritising of youth mental health.

 

 

The Push-Up Challenge is a free, virtual event engages in mental health by:

Educating: Each day of the Challenge, you'll receive a different push-up target which corresponds to an important mental health fact or statistic.

Reducing stigma: The daily mental health facts facilitate conversations about mental health and encourage people to seek help when they need it.

Encouraging connection: Participants benefit from a positive team spirit and sense of camaraderie with their workmates, both virtually and in person.

Promoting fitness: Exercise has many benefits for your physical and mental health. Push-ups can be done anywhere and anytime, so it’s easy for participants to get involved.

Making a difference: You can choose to raise funds for headspace Knox or Lilydale to improve mental health outcomes in our community
