To mark headspace Day 2025, headspace Knox and Lilydale are proud to launch a Youth-Led Art Competition inspired by this year’s theme: “Make Space”. This initiative, co-designed by our passionate Youth Action Force (YAF), invites young people to creatively explore what mental health, identity, and community mean to them.

Why It Matters

The competition aims to create space—both physically and emotionally—for young people to express their experiences and perspectives. It’s about fostering inclusion, creativity, and connection, while enhancing the visual environment of our centres with youth-created artwork.

Themes & Artistic Freedom

Participants can choose from four powerful themes:
- What does diversity and harmony mean to you?
- What makes “me”, me?
- What does mental health and/or wellbeing mean to you?
- What does community mean to you?

Artworks can be in any medium—painting, drawing, digital, mixed media—as long as they’re mountable. We want to see bold ideas, personal stories, and creative expression.

We encourage schools, community groups, and local organisations to help spread the word and support young people to get involved.
