The use of AI with young people- New Cyber Round Table Discussion by the FRG

The Family Reference Group (FRG) across headspace Bondi Junction, Hurstville and Miranda have been working on a series of Round Table Discussions focusing on a different topic each quarter. In March, the discussion focused on the use of AI with young people.

Our Family Reference group across headspace Bondi Junction, Hurstville and Miranda have designed a new series of online round table discussions. The first one for 2026 kicked off in March and focused on:
"Keeping your young people safe using AI"
    AI is a powerful tool but it can also be dangerous, and we often worry about our young people. 
    This discussion will combine questions from parents and carers with real world advice from experts
    in IT and Mental Health.
We were lucky to have guest speaker Breina the IT Lady who shared her expertise around AI as a tool and we also heard from Seema, the Centre Manager from headspace Hurstville and Miranda who shared valuable insights around AI use and tools for parents and carers to use when discussing AI with young people.
