Making it Through the Dark
For Mental Health Week this year the headspace Hobart Youth Reference Group (YRG) are launching their short silent film, 'Making it through the dark'. The film is based on the lived experience of our YRG member Connah, who will share his story of depression and recovery. We hope that his story will encourage others to share their story and reach out for help, while also fostering a supportive response from our community. It's going to be an evening of celebration as we share stories and spread a positive mental health message. Joining us in this venture and celebration are: JENSEN- Live music OWLKEYME- Dance performance and short film launch STAY ChatTY- Mitch McPherson as guest speaker. We won't be going hungry with delicious, gourmet Paella from The Link Youth Health Service and Sammy's Cakes scrumptious cupcakes. The theme for Mental Health Week this year is 'Mental Health Begins With Me'. So come along, and be a part of an event that starts conversations about mental health and how we can care for our own and support others. Get ready to be entertained... MCing on the night are our Youth Reference Group members Connah and Dakoda... This event is FREE for all ages! Come along and join the fun from 7pm- 8.30pm on Friday 9th October at the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre at 44 Collins Street Hobart.
