New resources for young people navigating ADHD

11 Jul 2025

Lots of young people come to headspace looking for support with things like staying organised, managing time, keeping focused, and handling changes.

When these skills feel tough, it can make things like school, friendships, work, and home life more stressful. It can also add to feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and generally not feeling your best.

Some people come to headspace hoping to get an ADHD diagnosis. While we don't do ADHD assessments, we can help connect you with services that do - though sometimes it can be expensive or take a while to get an appointment.

The good news is, you don’t need a formal diagnosis to start getting support! Our team, which includes psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and mental health nurses - can help you build skills and find strategies to make everyday life a little easier.

New resources created with young people, for young people

A group of Monash University occupational therapy students on placement with us worked clinicians and Youth Advisory Committee members to create some new resources to support young people looking for ways to manage symptoms of ADHD.

Here’s what’s available:

These are quick, easy-to-read guides with tips for staying organised, managing time, coping with tricky moments, and looking after yourself - at home, at school, and when you’re out and about.

These resources are based on the latest research and designed to be practical, positive, and easy to use. They’re about helping you build on your strengths, manage the stuff that’s tricky, and get the support you deserve.

Remember, you’re not alone in this! With the right tools and people around you, you can handle the tough stuff and lean into the awesome parts of ADHD too - like creativity, curiosity, big ideas, and unique ways of seeing the world.
