Youth Pride Coordinator

I support our young people through WayOut Wodonga, a local program that creates safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIASB+ young people. WayOut is supported through the HEY Partnership, which brings together workers across Victoria to share knowledge, representation, and consultation. Through this connection, WayOut Wodonga benefits from a strong statewide network while focusing on local engagement, visibility, and support for young people in our region.
For me, this role is about supporting the next generation of LGBTQIASB+ people where we live. I am aware and deeply grateful for the advocacy and work previous generations have done for our community to provide us with more access to supports, and for us to experience the queer joy others did not have the rights to. Through this role and beautiful people in my team, I hope we can continue to support and celebrate our fabulous group of young queer people in our region!

When I am not at work - you will usually find me at home with my partner and two cats either glued to the TV, the Kindle, or the Computer. 

 

Social Groups

QREW is for young people aged 12-17, and connects through the Victorian school holidays fortnightly on Wednesdays from 4pm - 5:30pm. 

Queer connections gives young people aged 18-25 the chance to connect with others in our community, and also get involved in events! regular catch ups fortnightly from 5:30pm.

Wayout Wodonga is a program under headspace & adolescent services in Albury-Wodonga & Wangaratta. If you would like us to attend an event, facilitate a workshop, or connect with your school rainbow group - complete this form!

Unsure if you would like headspace Albury Wodonga or WayOut Wodonga to attend? The form does both!

qheadspace   Tuesdays 6:30pm – 9:45pm AEDT (in school terms), - for anyone aged 12-25. If you identify as, are questioning, or are interested in learning about trans and gender diversity and/or sexuality, join the community to discuss all things LGBTQIA+.
LINE Wangaratta 0491 625 200 a volunteer not-for-profit coordinating social inclusion programs and events in Wangaratta.
