Sportsgirl Partners with headspace to Support First Nations Youth

We’re thrilled to share that Sportsgirl has partnered with headspace to raise vital funds for the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people across Australia.

Young people today face many pressures - whether from school, work, relationships, or global issues. For First Nations youth, these can be intensified by racism, intergenerational trauma, and marginalisation. To respond, this partnership aims to foster inclusivity, resilience, and hope through targeted initiatives.

Thanks to Sportsgirl’s generous support over the next 12 months, headspace will expand:

  • Yarnspace – A culturally safe, peer-led online space for First Nations youth to connect, share stories, and access support.
  • Community projects & events – Strengthening local connections and improving access to essential services.
  • Empowerment programs – Uplifting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women through leadership training, sport, and wellbeing activities  .

As part of the campaign, Sportsgirl collaborated with four young First Nations artists - Holly, Siena, Stefanie, and Tanaya - who were mentored by Arabana and Kokatha artist Mali Isabel during creative workshops. Their designs explore mental health themes through the lens of their personal journeys.
