Private Allied Health Practitioners - headspace Bondi Junction

headspace Bondi Junction has opportunities for MBS registered  Allied Health Practitioners  with post registration experience to deliver a co-operative, multi-disciplinary model of care at headspace Bondi Junction, and work closely with headspace multidisciplinary team that includes GPs, private allied health staff, and collocated service partners to maximise opportunities to identify innovative, co-ordinated solutions for individual clients.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

Essential

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Allied Health Discipline)

  • Fully registered health professional with AHPRA with mental health experience i.e. Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist or Psychologist, (Social Workers should be eligible for membership with the AASW).

  • Experience in the provision of clinical mental health services for young people including engaging and providing care with young people ages 12-25 years who have mental health, alcohol and other drug problems and implement evidence-based psychological interventions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of DSM-5 terminology and diagnoses.

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment and screening of clients and their carer’s and the ability to develop understanding/knowledge of determining care needs and assist clients to access necessary services.

  • Working knowledge of current legislation and government policy in relation to mental health and alcohol and other drug disorders, particularly as it relates to young people in NSW.

  • Proven ability to work independently to manage own role and responsibility in a varied work environment

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving, advocacy and negotiation skills including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with young people, family/carers, workers and other agencies.

  • Competence regarding clinical information systems, software packages and willingness to be trained and implement MDS, the headspace data collection and registration tool. Other software packages i.e. Best Practice.

  • Previous experience working in a headspace Centre
