Salary: $98,889 – $110,016

Deadline: 25 Jul 2022, 5:00 pm

Your Moment of Opportunity Has Arrived

Do you crave adventure and experiences that build lasting memories? This could well be that point in your career that you will always remember for the experience you gained and the growth you made, both personally and professionally.  You should not let this opportunity pass you by!

Joining the collaboration of Boab Health’s team which is leading the way in remote allied and mental health services, and award winning Wunan Health with its richness of cultural immersion and support - will be an experience that brings its own rewards.  All of this in the unique and wonderous Kimberley region of Western Australia!

Boab Health Services is a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary primary health care service which offers a multitude of services throughout the Kimberley. Wunan Health is a successful social enterprise operating as part of the broader Aboriginal-owned Wunan Foundation.

This is a unique and rare opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Professional (psychologist, mental health nurse, occupational therapist, Aboriginal health worker or social worker) to join our organisation in a new role as the Clinical Lead supporting the delivery of mental health services for young people at the new headspace service in Kununurra.

About the role

This role is employed by Boab Health Services and is hosted by headspace Kununurra, operated by Wunan Health.  It is responsible on a day-to-day basis to the headspace Kununurra Centre Manager.  The role can expect clinical and cultural support from Wunan Health and collegiate support from Boab Health Services.

This role is a key leadership position with the headspace Kununurra team and provides oversight to the coordination and delivery of clinical mental health services. The Clinical Lead is primarily responsible for providing clinical leadership and building that strong sense of team amongst the multifaceted team.  This role will provide direction to the headspace team, ensuring effective day-to-day delivery of clinical services to meet the needs of young people. The Clinical Lead is a 0.5 FTE allocation with the other 0.5 FTE being made up of clinical service provision.

About you

We are really looking for someone who can problem solve and work with diverse team members to find innovative ways to meet the needs of our most vulnerable young people.  You will thrive in this collaborative working environment and will embrace the dynamic nature of the consortium-type approach that underpins the success of headspace.

You will have significant post-registration experience with leadership, evidence based psychological interventions and suicide prevention to youth and young adults.  Your experience, compassion, and motivation to collaborate with Aboriginal people and in rural and remote mental health care will be highly regarded.  You will have AHPRA registration (if applicable to your discipline) and relevant professional association membership.
