Our Service:

This is an exciting time for Stride as the new provider for headspace Geelong. Currently and successfully operating 7 headspace centres in QLD and NSW, including one satellite centre. We have demonstrated strong understanding of the headspace model and the youth stream of mental health care.

headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.

Role Overview:

  • Support the coordination, development and delivery of the student placement program and maintain relationships with relevant universities
  • Support the field supervision of headspace National graduates seconded to headspace by Stride centres
  • Lead and develop clinical training programs to assist in upskilling staff, providing task supervision, mentorship and support
  • Co-facilitate tutorial style study groups, participate in advisory groups, research & evaluation activities, and community improvement projects
  • Provide clinical supervision to students and graduates

 

Requirements:

  • Must have one of the following: AHPRA registration as a General, Educational or Clinical Psychologist OR Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental Health Nurse OR AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience post qualification and be eligible to provide clinical supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment and initial screening activities to determine client care needs, provide counselling, produce assessment reports and assist clients to access necessary services
  • Demonstrated expertise in the leadership of a multi-disciplinary staff including the ability to lead the coordination of care for young people with complex needs including consultation and engagement with a wide range of professionals
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work well under pressure and manage communications and information with staff and private practitioners.
  • Demonstrated ability to show innovation and flexibility to incorporate contemporary practice and enhance service delivery options to better meet client needs.
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card 
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance 
  • Drivers license
